Jim Thorpe Art Weekend 2012 Schedule of Events

    Saturday, May 5

  • 1—7PM Take a self-guided studio and gallery tour, a celebration of the visual arts. Follow the walking map.
  • 1PM: Jack Gunsser, master story teller, at the Harry Packer Mansion
    Tickets: $5 at the door.
  • 2PM—4PM: Free concert in the park. Josiah White Park at the Jim Thorpe Train Station.
  • 2PM: Photographic workshop with professional photographer, Tom Storm. Learn how to get the best out of your camera and take the kind of shots you always wanted. Meet Tom at the Train Station at 1:45PM.
    Tickets: $10 will be available online or from Tom Storm at the event.
  • 3PM—5PM The Art of Cuisine
    • 4PM: Wine paring at Crave $15 per person
    • Events at Flow, Black Bread, and Wheel to be announced
  • 4PM: Stone Lithography demonstration at Black Diamond Gallery by Ron Chupp, stone lithographer
  • 7PM: Gallery Openings
    • Dakota Ridge Gallery: The art of Photography
    • Black Diamond Gallery: Monotypes and Stone Lithography
  • 8PM: Marko Marcinko Latin Jazz Quintet at the Mauch Chunk Opera House

  • After Hours: Molly Maguire Pub, Black Bread, Broadway Grille

  • 2PM: "The Art of Victorian Architecture", lecture by Bill Allison, historian at the Mauch Chunk Opera House
  • 2PM: Photographic workshop with professional photographer, Tom Storm. Learn how to get the best out of your camera and take the kind of shots you always wanted. Meet Tom at the Train Station at 1:45PM.
